New Year’s Eve with San Francisco Symphony and Seth MacFarlane

Seth MacFarlaneThis New Year’s Eve, Thursday at 8pm – join conductor Edwin Outwater and the San Francisco Symphony for the classiest show in town. This year’s guest artist is popular singer Seth MacFarlane. A recipient of two Primetime Emmy Awards for his work on the animated series Family Guy, MacFarlane also has a great affinity with the hits of Frank Sinatra and recently hosted “Sinatra: Voice for a Century” on Live From Lincoln Center. Seth is also an Academy and Grammy Award-nominated singer, songwriter, actor, producer, and director. His recently released CD, No One Ever Tells You, includes classic ballads such as Spring Will Be A Little Late This Year, These Foolish Things, It’s All Right With Me and Guess I’ll Hang My Tears Out To Dry.

 

Edwin OutwaterEdwin Outwater is Music Director of Ontario’s Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony (KWS) and Director of Summer Concerts at the San Francisco Symphony. A regular guest conductor of the Chicago and New World symphonies, Mr. Outwater makes appearances this season with the Milwaukee Symphony and BBC National Orchestra of Wales. In previous seasons, Mr. Outwater’s North American engagements have included performances with the New York and Los Angeles philharmonics, the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Canada, as well as the orchestras of Baltimore, Houston, Detroit, Seattle, Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, and Victoria. Further afield, he has led the Tokyo Metropolitan Orchestra, New Zealand Symphony, Adelaide Symphony, Malmö Symphony, North West German Philharmonic, Mexico City Philharmonic, Orquesta Sinfónica de Xalapa, and the Hong Kong Sinfonietta.
